Ignorance or idiocy?

Ezra Klein thinks the Constitution is impossible to understand because, "it is more than 100 years old."

One would hope that Mr. Klein is at least somewhat embarrassed by that comment. No rational person could be proud of such an unvarnished display of either ignorance or idiocy.

If his comments make sense to you then you are either ignorant or an idiot as well. Go read the constitution. You can find it right here.

If you still don't understand what a miraculous document the United States Constitution is in the scope of human history then I am truly sad for you.

James Madison was the primary author of the Constitution. He explained it well in Federalist 51:

"But what is government but the greatest of all reflections on human nature? If men were angels, no government would be necessary. If angels were to govern men, neither external nor internal controls on government would be necessary. In framing a government which is to be administered by men over men, the great difficulty lies in this: You must first enable the government to control the governed; and in the next place, oblige it to control itself."

Can anyone seriously suggest that our government has controlled itself over the past couple of decades?
