Yesterday the press was all atwitter over a poll suggesting that a quarter of Americans think that President Obama is a Muslim. The White House, as expected, blamed everyone but themselves for whatever misconception there may be.
I don't know about the President's personal faith any more than he knows about mine. What I do know is that when it comes to matters of faith, others percieve us based on our actions. Or, as Ralph Waldo Emerson so eloquently put it, "What you do speaks so loud that I cannot hear what you say."
If you are alarmed by the way you are percieved, Mr. President, try looking in the mirror. It's amazing what humility and introspection can teach you. If you do so while on your knees you just might learn even more.
